Polished Concrete in Wellen Park, Florida

We polished Wellen Park High School and Fire Station #87 - the two largest polished floors in the community.

Polished Concrete in Wellen Park

Wellen Park is one of the fastest-selling master-planned communities in the country, and nearly all of it is new slab. We have polished two of its landmark buildings: Wellen Park High School, where a combined 50,000 square feet was taken to a high-sheen finish across corridors, commons and support spaces, and Fire Station #87, a roughly $10 million station where the apparatus bay and crew quarters share one continuous 800-grit floor.

New-construction slabs are the best candidates for polishing. There is no glue or coating to strip, the concrete is tight, and we can schedule against the GC's cure and finish sequence so the floor is ground once and protected until turnover.

Retail, restaurant and clubhouse build-outs in Downtown Wellen get the same treatment at a brighter 1500 to 3000-grit finish, where the concrete itself is the design floor. Every phase is self-performed by our crews out of Sarasota.

Common Questions

Polished Concrete in Wellen Park FAQs

Which Wellen Park buildings have you polished?

Wellen Park High School - about 50,000 square feet to a high sheen - and Fire Station #87, roughly 10,000 square feet at 800 grit across the apparatus bay and crew quarters.

Can you polish a new Wellen Park slab right after the pour?

Once it has cured enough to grind, yes. New slab is ideal: nothing to remove, tight surface, and one grinding sequence instead of two.

Do you handle Downtown Wellen retail build-outs?

Yes. Tenant spaces, restaurants and amenity buildings are regular work for us, typically at 1500 to 3000 grit with stain or dye when the designer calls for it.
